We were put back in the water last Friday the 19th of Novemeber, same day our friends from S/V SeaHorse arrived from Texas, They were put in the water the following Monday, after a weekend of work and some fun at the El Captians!  We all headed North to Marina Real at Algadones Beach for a 3 night slip stay to provision and wait out a storm of 25 to 35 knot of wind expect here on Thanksgiving day.  We rented a car and spent all day Wednesday provisioning both boats.  Our plans for Thanksgiving with S/V SeaHorse, Cam and Janie, we will fininsh provisioning our boats then maybe go for a hike up a canyon here and look for monkeys! Thens its back to the boat for our dinner.   We plan to anchor out here on Friday and take our dinghy to the beach for a visit to the Soggy Peso, should be fun!  On Saturday we will sail across the Sea of Cortez and start exploring south to La Paz for Christmas then across to Mazatlan and south from there.  Cam and Janie will sail with us then head back to San Carlos sometime the end of December or early January in their boat. Brian and I plan to explore the pacific coast of Mexico until end of March or early April.  We have some friends and family that will come visit at various spots, we look forward to that.  Anyway I will try to keep you posted when I can, hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!!!!

Not in the water yet : (

We decided to take advantage of having the boat in the work yard.  We got the bottom sanded and painted, new zincs on, we sanded our rub rails and put several coats of bristol finish on, we have been wanting to do this for a while!  Its much easier to do the rails on the hard instead of floating from the dinghy!  Got the main sail up, the doger and bimini. The yard moved the stands so Brian can sand and paint under them and he will put one more coat of bristol on the rub rails.  I got the bright work done, fridge and freezer working and lots of cleaning inside. Shes a happy girl!!!  Today we will work on finishing the bottom where the jack stands were, finish the rub rail, put out dock lines and bumpers and get her ready for tommorrow morning launch into the water!!!  Since we've been here we have met some really nice people also working on their boats.  This is a busy place lots of excited sailors getting ready to set sail for the season. Last night we went to the Roy Orbishark Show!!  What a hoot, its a puppet show that features Roy Obrisons songs, with guest stars appearing, such as Tina Tuna, Eelvis, StingRay Charles!!!  The 1st taping 114th runnning!!  It was great, the setting equally as great, JJs.  JJs is quaint outside type setting nothing fancy, plastic tables and chairs, dirt floor and a outhouse with tile floors and a light in it, lol.  The stage lights were two flashlights help by a couple of guys, in between acts, a guest would stand on his chair and pull the string to turn on the over head light!!  When the act was ready to start again, the guest would get back up and turn the light back off, then the flash lights came on again, lol!!  The back of the waiters shirts say Have a Nice Day and the picture is a hand flipping you off.  The best tacos I've had yet!!  You dont get a bill, you just tell the owner what ya had and he figures what the total was, a sort of honor system.  As we walked up to pay, the owner says, "thanks for coming have a nice night", we told him we havent paid yet, he says "Oh, what'd ya have?"  then gave us our total and said, "Almost free"  Great place lots of fun!!  Sorry no pictures I forgot to bring my camera with : (
We have made serveral trips to town on our bicycles for supplies.  The weather has been really nice, hot during the day and suprisingly cool at night.  We will send picutures and try to keep you updated as often as we can.  Miss everyone and will try to figure out how to comment back, so far I cant seem to do it without making a new post.  Krista if you read this send me  your email, we have miss placed it : (  Doug, Carla, Ana and Steve we are going to try to make to La Paz for the Christmas party!!  Bye for now........

Hi from Mexico!!

We arrived San Carlos on the 10th of November after along 15 hour bus ride, but well worth it we are here!!  We found Rainshadow III extremely dusty inside and out, a few small problems here and there but shes in pretty good shape for sitting in the heat down here so long.  We will clean things up and sand and put some new bottom paint on her.  We will be put in the water Tuesday morning, we are so excited but have lots of work to do before Tuesday, but happy to do it and lovin being back!  Our friends Cam and Janie will be here early this week!  We look forward to sailing with them again, cant wait!  We will try to update you again, but not sure how often.  Just wanted to let everyone at home know we are here and are having a great time. Bye for now : )

Great motorcycle trip south!!!

Hi everyone!!  What a wonderful motorcycle trip south, we had so much fun!  We traveled south via YellowStone, Tetons, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and California.  We visited many friends and family along the way.  We are putting our bike in storage and taking a bus into Mexico Tuesday night at 9:00pm, we will arrive San Carlos around 9:30am on Wednesday the 11th of November.  We will work on the boat, putting back all the sails,  give her a fresh coat of bottom paint, put things back together and stock up the stores.  We are sooooo excited can hardly wait.  We hope to have Rainshadow III launched on Thursday or Friday.  Then we plan to sail north a bit then head south and maybe be in LaPaz for Christmas Holiday.  We hope to attend a friends Christmas Party and hook up with our boating friends there!!  Then after the party plan to head across the sea to Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and ???  We are not sure.   This is kind of our game plan, but like Brian says, "A sailors plans are written in the sand at low tide."  So things can change : )  We will try to keep this blog updated when we can.
